About The Inn
Past, Present & Future
Bourbon Barrel Inn Bed & Breakfast is a newly renovated, historic three-story Victorian era house with the Chaplinesque-architectural style built circa 1890 located on the historical "Millionaire's Row" in Old Louisville. Although we are a traditional B&B in most respects, we stand out with a more updated and theme-styled décor, gracious and accommodating amenities, and a prime location for easy access to all major attractions and points of interest in metro Louisville. The Inn offers four bedroom suites, each named after the oldest and most popular horse tracks in the country: Saratoga, Belmont, Pimlico and Keeneland. Our community rooms are also named after different areas within a racetrack, such as The Starting Gate, The Clubhouse Turn and The Tack Room.
Historial Ambiance
Using historical/architectural paint selections in all our bedrooms and baths, every room throughout the inn is tastefully accented with woods and metals with no detail left to chance. As you walk through the inn, you will notice many accents of bourbon barrel wood including our barrel-style rockers on the front porch and tables in the dining room. Even the half-bath under the main staircase on the first floor has a half-barrel vanity complementing the barn wood covered walls and tin ceiling. Our conversation and bar area has a barrel high-top table, soft leather club chairs, and leather-covered bar stools, which highlight our antique Old Saloon Bar stocked with the finest bourbons and liquors.

About the Innkeepers
Richard and Brian
Richard and Brian are the owners as well as your hosts.
Richard has a degree in culinary arts and food service/hospitality including a bachelor's degree in marketing and management. He retired in 2024 after a 40+ year career in healthcare food & environmental services management. Richard's lifelong dream has been to one day create, establish, own and operate a uniquely themed bed & breakfast.
Brian has a bachelor's degree in musicology and a master's degree in theology. He served in professional ministry for 12 years and has been an executive nonprofit leader for over 25 years.
After spending the last several years in Florida, they decided that Louisville was the perfect place to be. With their love of country, horses and bourbon, Rich and Brian couldn't think of a better place to begin their new venture - it's where Horses and Bourbon are blended so well. They purchased the property in October 2024 ... and their dream became a reality.
Our Mission
The inn intends to provide a serene setting for our guests to enjoy the many splendors of Louisville and surrounding areas. Each guest will be treated with the kind of attention that is reserved for family and friends. When our guests arrive, we want them to feel like they have walked into their second home - but without the worries of doing work - and give them the feeling of being pampered and an appreciated member of the family.
